At approximately 8 AM today, the Contra Costa Times received a call from a
person claiming to have placed four bombs at an unnamed PG&E facility in
the
San Ramon Area with the first scheduled to detonate at 9:17 AM. The San
Ramon
Police and Danville Police felt that the threat had sufficient credibility
to ask that the TES, R&D, and San Ramon Learning Center facilities be
evacuated which they were by 9 AM.
The facilities are presently being visually searched and the UCPD bomb
team in expected momentarily to augment the search with explosive
detection
dogs. We have also asked for an inspection of the nearby San Ramon
Substation.
It is anticipated that the facilities will be reoccupied
sometime today and that SRLC classes should not be interrupted for
tomorrow.
We will advise when further details become available.
