problem though. Should I use the Highlander cast from the movies, or the series?

Go with the series charactors. Chris Lambert made a great immortal, but 
that I've-got-wood-splinters-in-my-throat voice... ug
Besides that, we've never really seen how Conner would react to a 
FRIENDLY immortal, other than that one appearence in the series.
