anyone is REQUIRED to read a story. If it offends

Misa, I hate to disagree, but Jack contributed to turning this into a
flamewar, too. He has a habit of equating negative comments with
personal attacks and answers accordingly. Also he seems to have a hard
time accepting that some of the negative comments might be true.

I was not defending Jack in this letter. I have no idea where people
got the idea that I was his personal little knight or whatever. I AM
SIMPLY SAYING THAT I THINK IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT PEOPLE START
RIPPING ON EACH OTHER PUBICALLY ON THE FFML!!! I think it is stupid
and immature. If you think someone is being an idiot, why bring
yourself down to their level? You don't get revenge, you just
end up looking as petulant and as idiotic.

Writing oneself or a thinly disguised alter ego into your own fic isn't
the pinnacle of good style, but it's not automatically bad - as long as
you're aware what you're doing and doing it consciously. Denial of any
possible problems with one's fic does not make it better, sorry.

I never said it did. However, I did say that a fic is a fic, and some
people might like it, and some people might not, but that it should be
allowed to be posted to the list, and if you don't want to read it, delete it.

I do believe that Jack is a nice guy (If Misa says so, I believe her). I

Where did I say that? I was making no judgement calls on personality in
that letter. What kind of person Jack is has no bearing on my point
that it is stupid to continue this little flamewar.

read his story, I tried to like it, I didn't. *No big deal*! I don't
know why this has been blown so out of proportion. I didn't want to

I agree. if people don't want to read it, and find it offensive,
delete the #&*@ thing.

discourage him with negative comments, because I think that he *does*
have talent.

he is ok, but has a long way to go.

Now will everybody *please* behave like adults? This is the internet,
not Kindergarten.

my point exactly.
