Ceaser: Veni, Vidi, Vici... "I came, I saw, I conquered!"

I just posted a nasty note about humor on the ML, but if I combine it 
with a history lesson, will you forgive me?

One of the things US vets brought back from Korea and Vietnam was 
syphillis.  It was the US's first experience with such a virulent form 
of venereal disease.  Some thought that the US's slogan in Vietnam 
should have been:

Veni, V.D., Vici... "I came, I caught, I cankered."
