Well, this is probably not the time to do this, but I do have something 
to say about this.

First, the copyrights remain with the works creators, something which 
needs to be remembered and is usually used with permission.

Second, publishers are always looking for writers and look to mailing 
lists like this or to newsgroups such as Rec.Arts.Anime.Creative to 
provide us with hints about who we might like to contact or go after to 
write a submission piece of about three chapters to see if these people 
are what are being looked for and if they have talent, raw or otherwise, 
whith which to work with.

Third, when we publish a contract is written and negotiated, usually with 
percentages and retainers or up front fees.  These in turn are then sent 
to the lawyers to draft up, and then double check by both sides with the 
lawyers present for any questions and to make sure all the leagal loop 
holes are filed so that both sides are satisfied.

Forth, the company is not in the habit of soliciting people for the 
purposes of getting work for their own profit.

Art is very important, and that means that people are depending upon a 
company to check all the rules.  Copyrights stay with the writterws and 
creators, and are not bought by the company.  The right to represent a 
person is bid and bought.
