Well, here's part 3 of my "bringing Ranma 1/2 to an end" series.
And another excellent installment it is!
I must say that this story took a life of its own as I started writing
it. It took me places I hadn't imagined when I began. Halfway through
I stopped and stared at what I had just written. It freaked me out so
much that I went and took a nice long shower to clear my mind. Then I
went to bed to sleep on it.
Isn't that how the best pieces are? *giggle*
I nearly chucked the whole thing and started over. I decided to see
where the story would lead me, though, and found that I rather liked it
when it was done.
I'm glad you didn't! I like it also!
A few things to think about:
Genma sat on the dojo floor, facing Ranma and Akane. They were all
dressed in their martial arts robes,
robes? Maybe gi's?
Genma made one last effort to clear his head. In a stern tone of
voice, he asked "Ranma, what have I taught you about a martial artist
who specializes in a particular weapon?"
Ranma answered immediately. "It makes them weak. If your enemy
knows where the attack is coming from, it's easier for your enemy to
defend against it. Wielding a weapon limits your attacks and hinders
your defense, no matter how good you are at using it."
That was a nice touch.
She reached up to tenderly
touch his cheek. Ranma smiled down at her, putting his hands on her
waist.
put (tense swapping, I think)
"Ucchan - " Ranma stopped abruptly, seemed to reconsider his
words. He had a sad look on his face. Ukyo looked over at Akane,
who stood very close to Ranma, looking at Ukyo with the same
sadness in her face, but mixed with a grim determination.
Ranma and Akane had watched the scene without comment, but their
faces had gotten sadder during its length. The fear in Ukyo's stomach
grew, and spread to a tightness in her chest. She cast about for a
topic, anything to delay the inevitable. "Ran-chan, w-will you be
going on vacation with your family during the school break?"
Um...you might want to work on something other than using 'sad' here so
many times.
O.K. Who's next? Shampoo?
Thanks for sharing it!
