NIPPON HEROES! WRITERS' GUIDELINES

Freelancers are welcome, both professional and the up and coming 
professional. We're not as interested in your experience as much as we are 
your ability to convey your thoughts to paper, and how detailed your 
information is. However, should you have previous experience writing 
articles, please send us some samples. 


We are looking for material between 500 and 2,000 words. We purchase 
First North American Serial Rights. Many accepted articles are paid between 
$100 and $200. We pay upon acceptance, rather than upon publication, after 
receiving a signed agreement from the author. We do not accept 
simultaneous submissions, and we prefer receiving query letters 
detailing specific article concepts rather than completed manuscripts.


Acceptance of manuscripts is based upon interviews with key names in the 
industry, excellent writing, solid collecting angles and a positive tone. We 
especially look for articles concerning the depth of collecting Japanese
related 
material. All manuscripts regarding collecting Japanese related material 
should convey an upbeat message to both the current collector and the new. 
Always remember there will be new readers involved in the live-action/anime 
medium. Take the time to properly fill in all readers, not just the
experienced 
ones. We do not want stories that are condescending, or demeaning to those 
in or out of the know.


FAN FICTION:


Submissions of fan fiction (anime related short stories based on original or
known characters) are being accepted. We are looking for short stories
between 2,500 and 5,000 words, with exceptional quality in writing skill,
character integrity and story telling. All stories must have an ending. NO
SERIES or SEQUELS will be permitted. Ten (10) free copies of the published
issue and a 'NIPPON HEROES' t-shirt are given for accepted work. We
automatically acknowledge the original owners of the characters used as well
as place a disclaimer on every 'fan-fictional' work.
