Some interesting ideas here. I've run Ranma games using both Teenagers From
Outer Space as well as the core Sihoulette-A rules from the Project A-ko
RPG, and there are some ideas I might convert to Sihoulette-A (which is my
system of choice). A few comments, though.
Is there a reason why an attractiveness/looks stat was left out? I would
think that this would be important in any high school setting and would be a
major factor in getting dates and seduction attempts.
Probably 'cause I forgot it. :{
Ooops...hope you remember to put it in the next version ^_^
Yep. It's on my list...
I'd probably try to adapt some of the ideas behind the martial arts rules to
Sihoulette-A since it doesn't have much for martial arts. Generally, I've
been using skills in the various martial arts techniques to increase the
potential for success and for greater margins of success (leading to more
damage), than as damage/skill/stat modifiers. As is, though, it's a bit too
detailed for my taste, since I prefer not too many rules to get in the way
of a good time.
Hmm... Well... When it comes to combat I love systems
with lots of phases, the complex the better. Ie. more real...
Guess it's a matter of different GM'ing styles, then. I basically keep the
dice-rolls and such to a minimum and emphasize story and participation more.
There's room for both styles, so no need for any animosity ^_^
I never said GM that way. I just said I like them. No animosity felt.
Anyway, tyhe fighting shouldn't be that important anyway...
I might tone it down a bit though.. Sides.. You can keep or lose anything you
don't like.
True. I'm going to go ahead and adapt portions of the martial arts section to
Sihoulette-A rules since Ianus Press hasn't put out any martial arts rules
(that I know of) for either Sihoulette-A (Project A-ko RPG) or for Sihoulette
(Heavy Gear) yet.
Whatever...
Speaking of RPGs using Ranma, I'm considering running a game at AX using my
Aa! Megami-sensei! setting. It'll be Sihoulette-A rules, rather than TFOS,
but that shouldn't be a problem since it's a nice and easy system to run
games in. If anyone's interested, e-mail me and we'll go from there!
If you're feeling wierd, try it with the TMNT system! ;)
Ehhh...I think not. I'm not a big fan of the Palladium system. In fact, I
only got the Roboecch and Macross II RPGs for the mecha illustrations and stats
(which were somewhat inaccurate anyway). I tend towards Sil-A, TFOS, Mekton Z,
Cyberpunk 2020/Cybergeneration, and Heavy Gear.
I butchered the Palladium system and it works now... They roll a dice and
succeed if I feel like it! :)
