I agree with everthing except this part:

or is she just really angry and saying whatever pops into her head?

Because, if you read back to part.. um... 7? When Ranma starts to
tell Akane about Ryouga, and she guesses? She says that she guessed
that he probably was in love with her too, and she is being so nice
about it because she didn't want to hurt him TOO bad.

Keep writing!!  Things are getting tense.  I've never seen Akari, but
I still think Ryouga should be going for Ukyou...  That fool, she's
right under his nose...!

I have half the people rooting for Akari and the other half for Ukyou.
You will just have to see :). I am doing research on Akari right now
because I don't know much about her either; that is why it is taking
so long to get Part 10 out :).
