Okay... My first big post... (Maybe my only... @.@ *hide*)

WAI!! Mihoshi is back from Project A-kon and survived!!! ^_^
Anyhow... How was A-kon? Veeeery interesting. Okay, me being who I am,
I managed to trap myself in Texas for many MANY days... and rode up to
Dallas on Saturday with a friend. @_@ Well, this in and of itself was an
adventure! The journey was long and dull, until we were two thirds of the
way to the con... where we were mercilously slammed with a massive
rainstorm! Sugoi! It wasn't Mihoshi's fault! Honest!! I did NOT bring
that rain with me! I didn't! Well... maybe I did. Wah... it was
incredible! We arrived in Dallas to a city without power! All the traffic
lights were dead, cars backed up at dead lights waiting for who knows what
before finally going (Right of way doesn't seem to mean anything in Dallas
@.@), trees blown over, telephone poles splintered, ever a brick-post iron
gate had been toppled! Even better... Project A-kon was without power!
Most of Saturday, we found ourselves wandering in the dark. *giggle* We
couldn't even buy our badges... no electricity, no badge-making machines.
But meeting people was the agenda for the day... and in that, A-kon was a
great success! There was even a late dinner where some people got
together. Everyone was great. ^_^
Sunday went a bit smoother, but seemed to lack the adventure Saturday
had produced... wai! Mihoshi was NOT cruising for trouble!! Got my badge
(So I could enter the dealer's room) and wandered aimlessly. Due to the
previous day's mishaps, many events were moved to Sunday. Among these were
the Fanfic panel. *giggle!* I managed to sneak in on this and check it
out. 'twas manditory. Four panel members... Nightelf, John Biles, RPM,
and a name that eludes me (Please don't be mad at Mihoshi!) but she seemed
really nice! Anyway, Nightelf talked a whole lot about his fics... for
all he had to say, we'll be seeing a lot from you, ne? NE?? Biles was
next, and he talked about a few of the projects he was working on.. (Wai!
I'm familliar with John's work... and anxiously await any of the things
he's working on now...) The next to speak was the young lady (Forgive
me... wah...) who kept what she had to say very brief. You should have
talked more! ^_^ Maybe you could have kept RPM from singing those two
lines from the 'Sailor Moon' theme. Bleah. As you guessed, RPM went last.
Another writer I'm familliar with. One who has almost as many projects
going as J. Biles... (if that's possible, actually... it isn't. Mihoshi is
wrong. @.@) Anyway... after much talk... something lead into him launching
into the 'Sailor Moon' theme. I don't recall what, And I don't want to
know what. Mihoshi just kinda prayed for a starship to crash through the
room... at least it was mercifully short-lived *giggle*.
Anyway... everyone was great! I had a good time, even without the
lights. ^^; and everyone I met was pleasant and friendly. I had a great
time and spent more money than I care to admit to. @.@ But I'd do it
again. Maybe next year I will! And when i finally went home, I came out
of it a stuffed Cabbit richer. Given to me by someone who really.. really
shouldn't have. @.@
I think I'm done spamming you for now, this is rare, I don't post
much... waaah... I'm too busy crashing my computer to post usually, but I
felt I had to post something. To everyone who was at A-kon, thanks for a
great time!  Hope to see y'all at the next one. ^^;
*********
* Mihoshi@Ara... ? Lost in thought?? WAI!! Mihoshi is ALWAYS lost!
PS ... and after all the times we got lost, and things were forgotten
about... I gotta give a hug to 'Ryonosuke' who *knows* who he is. (Join
the Ryouga collective, you... *giggle*)
