   hehehe..that was the point.  supposedly, she found the "box" and it
   opened up her old memories and instilled a sense of duty in her.

Ah, now I see; while this is clear in the story, I was too befuddled
(from work this weekend) while reading it to put it together.  If you
somehow indicate that she made her decision to "Help Akane, help
Nabiki, help Father" before the start of the fanfic (as opposed to
deciding then) it would be clearer.

   no.  nabiki and genma were watching from OUTSIDE, they saw the shadowy
   figure coming outside towards them, genma jumped up to the ceiling and
   nabiki stumbled.  when kasumi came out, she helped nabiki up and basically
   acted innocently.

That was all clear, but I'm wondering why Genma nonetheless couldn't
have seen Kasumi, even from the ceiling; if you make clear he was
turned the wrong way, or not looking, or something....
