Didn't someone on this ML recently lose their hard drive while installing
Win'95 in the proper manner, using the installation Wizard (in other words,
doing it *their way*)?

they might have been running a controller card device driver or some kind
of boot sector tsr to allow size greater than 527MB.  the win95 manual
says '95 doesn't like either thing.
