Perhaps the charged particles are affecting space/time in a minute
section. Physists don't know everything yet, there may be a lot of ways to
manipulate vacuum with EM fields than known.

True, but...lemme do a bit more explaining. Currently, corrections
welcome, in theory, there is a thing known as the 'quantum foam'. This
is nothing more than particles and their own any particles that come into
existance and recombine and disappear in any vacuum. The idea is that,
possibly, that the Casimir Effect is an example of an EM field preventing
the particles from coming into existance and thus creating a 'purer' vacuum.

Smart. An analogy could be like a place going through the air but it's
SHAPE makes going through the 'empty' air easier, and sometimes even
self-supporting.

He's brilliant, IMO. If it pans out, then it would be
incredible...better have a noble for him...;) The ironic part is teh
paper is itty bitty (>4 pages, IIRC). The kewlest part is that it passed
peer review...:)

Say Jane is going 90%(less time dilation than say 99%) of the speed of
light north and Roy is going 90% of the speed of light south. When they
pass by each other, how fast does Roy perceive Jane to be going?

Less than the speed of light. :) hehe. I don't have the equation on
hand, but...:)

It just bothers me. ^_-

Oh, of course...very non-intuitive...:)

Now if you can just generate gravity fields or something... ;)

hehehehe. Well, negative matter reacts to gravity in the opposite way
that positive matter or antimatter does. AAMOF, it has all sorts of
nifty things about it. For example, time dialation:

If you put a MASSIVE shell of normal matter around you, time slows down.
(In a blackhole, it stops...).

Put a massive shell of negative matter and time speeds up!

Gravity:

As you know, gravity is a bending of space time (hence the time dialation
above). Normal matter contracts space as the more massive it gets.

Negative matter would EXPAND space (hence repell mass, in essence produce
antigravity).

etcetc.

That's how the A. Warp Drive works. Place a positive mass in front (it
contracts space) and place a negative mass behind (it expands it) and it
squirts ya right along.

Come to think of it, if every action has an equal an opposite re-action,
then what force is the opposite of gravity? Don't say anti-gravity.
If you don't know...think about it. ;) I don't. B>

Not all forces have an opposite. EM doesn't. Nor strong, nor weak.
You're misunderstanding the equal but opposite idea.

When you exert a force on an object, that object will exert one back
equal and opposite in vector (strength and direction). Hence the kick
on a rifle; the bullet is very small, thus X amount of force pushes it
very fast. The recoil is the same force exerted back at
you....obviously, unless you are hand firing the Iowa's guns(!!!), you're
not going to move very far...

Negative matter does REACT to gravity in the opposite of normal,
but...it's still the same force.

One must wonder if you could accelerate a positive and negative matter
chunks up to near the speed of light (relativistic effects 'increase' the
mass) that you could get your x jupiter masses to kick in the
effect....hrm...
