Lesse. And those two girls from "Izcer One" were lesbians. B-ko from Project
A-ko is clearly homosexual or bisexual. Then there is Akane (Kyosuke's
cousin) from Kimagure Orange Road, not to mention that one KOR episode where
that little girl falls in love with Madoka and does all sorts of evil stuff
to try to make her like her back.

I think it is a pretty common theme, and more accepted over in Japan than here.
