Erk! That sounds *so* like my mother.

Mom: The sky is green!
Me: Err, Mom... If you, um, look outside...
you may find that the sky is more, err, kinda
blueish. Sky blue.
Mom: Oh sure! I expect *you* *men* know all about it, eh?

You know, this reminds me of my mom (the following is a true story).

One of my sisters asked my mom "Why does the moon go dark?" Asking
about the phases of the moon, you know.

My mom said, "It's caused by the shadow of the earth."

Being a minor astronomy buff, I said, "No, it's caused by the moon's own
shadow as it revolves around the earth. When the earth's shadow hits
the moon, you have an eclipse of the moon."

A slight pause. My mom said, "It's caused by the shadow of the earth."

Being a veteran of such discussions, I gave up.

Now, humorous commentary aside, this is not a "male-female" thing, but a
personality thing. My mom was quite unwilling to admit a mistake. I've
known men who do the same thing. To say that such traits are
characteristic of a certain gender is slightly sexist, IMHO.

As to why women write better lemons...well, I have some opinions about
that, but it's probably best not to bog down the ML with too deep a
subject matter. (Yes, I'm being cowardly. I consider it best to be
thought a coward than a waster of bandwith.)
