I thought I would hop on the badwagon and give another perspective on this...
At one time in my life I was younger (surprise!!) thank goodness or else
or I'm not sure what I would be now....
I also seem to be having trouble with my "b"key so bear with any
strange looking words that should have one...
I've also gotta say I love the header....It looks delightfully
sordid....I know it's not really but hey, it's my dirty mind.
So here I go throwing mt male experiancial perspective into things....I
feel like I'm blathering a little but there is nothing wrong with
innocence and naivety...and I think it helps one's outlook on life better
than hardened cynicysm. I've gone through that and found my balance in a
mixture of both.....thank BOB for William Blake's Poems of innocence and
experience.
Which means I go into confessional mode....
I suppose anyone who does not want to hear about all this
self-reminicence can bail out now and save themselves the tedeum and angst.

Subject: [FFML] Sex and 16 year old girls (Akane)

OK-- I want to address some things here.

Everyone keeps telling me that Akane is too naive (in my L & L #8)

        a. Are you saying that with your current
           perspective on sex

        OR

        b. are you trying to think back to just
exactly how you felt about sex at
           age 16?

I mean, I may have been REALLY more naive than most
people at 16, but only about 1 person I knew had
sex by that age, and she was pretty loose. I mean,
how many of you REALLY knew about sex at that age?
Other than dirty jokes and stuff like that (most
of which, I will admit I laughed at even though
I had NO idea what they meant.

A few people I knew were somewhat active (sexually) at this time but I
was not...I wasn't even dating not really, I had gone out with two
friends but I wouldn't have called them dates and I don't think they
would have either, No....not until I had been 16 for about 4 months did I
actually "date" anyone....who I met at a school dance when she
accidentally lobbed a plant at me....(long story). I think we were both a
little naive...and definitely not experienced....she was actualy more
experienced than I as she had at least dated another guy...the most that
had ever happened with them was some frantic kissing which lead to a
hickey and their break-up.
So, she was 15 and I was 16.... it was about June, a month before my 17th
birthday (about a month and half before her 16th) before anything
sexually momentus happend....heavy petting that had slipped slowly under
clothing....Actually having sex was still several months away....March
break of the next year.... Sure I was a hormone filled idiot but she felt
(as we talked about it both before and after) that anything that felt so
good MUST inherently be wrong... we went out for 2 1/2 or 3 years until
she broke up with me sure I would find someone "better" at university and
dump her...and so did it first....
I think of her now with a sort of wistful regret and am glad (this is
the cynical part speaking now) that I at least managed to get a decient
short story written about our time together....

As for comments like this one:

        >I think what they say is true, Akane is REALLY
        >naive! I mean, "It moved!"
        >yeah, well that's like saying "You're wrist is
        >flexible!", get the idea?

(author deleteted because he is a cool guy and
I am not trying to put down on him)

OK- SURE SURE SURE that is an OBVIOUS thing....

                IF you are a GUY.

I mean, how the heck are you supposed to know that if you
are a 16 year old girl who has never seen a penis before?

and then there is the "yes I have changed my baby brother but what the
hell is that!???"

I'll tell you, it sure shocked the heck out of me
when I first saw that guys could do that, and I
had already HAD sex by then. I mean, I got the
basic idea, but you learn all kinds of cool things
as you get better at it, ne ?

The same thing happened....well something similair... and became sort of
an experimental curiosity...
I would also like to remind you all that
girls
(at least > when I was a kid, I dunno about today) don't tend to sit
around and shoot the crap about sex. We would giggle and
talk about it, yeah, but guys tend to get a lot more...
GRAPHIC in their discussions from what I have heard.

I'm not sure about this one but some of my friends (female) could get a
lot more graphic about sex than my male friends.....as a matter of fact
my male friends and I didn't really talk about sex (becides joes etc). It
was with my female friends who prodded goaded and extracted info... as
well as putting things in THEIR perspective....It was strange because I
thought somehow that I had gotten to know a lot of people because they
were HER friends...it turns out again in conversations over time that
they thought I had brought HER into the group....something substansiated
because when we broke up I still had these people as friends (and some
still) and she did not....
Also, remember sex-ed? How much did YOU
really learn
about > sex in that class? Shoot, all I learned basically was what
a (teeny-tiny black line drawing) penis looked like, that
guys put it down there, and that sperm came out and made
babies. Oh yeah, we also watched this movie called "The
miracle of Life" -- not much there either except for a
film of a heat-sensitive picture of a guy getting an
erection (gee... that enlightened me... not).

Ahhh...health class where one kid suggested bucket seats as a form of
birth-control.
Have you ever seen that Molly Ringwald movie..."For Keeps" the Penis-cam
shot at the beginning is a) far more than I want to see
 b) more than I saw in health class... >
How much do you think Akane could have learned from her
family? Not a whole lot I would say. I know a lot of
people learned about sex from their older sisters and
   brothers and/or parents.
                a. neither Kasumi or Nabiki have boyfriends
or (though we can never be sure about
                   Nabiki) have had sex.

Nabiki has had I think...just from the statement at the beginning of the
Viz anime..... the "Boys! there is more to life than boys Nabiki."
    b. Akane's mother died WAY WAY before she
                   could have told her anything.
                c. Soun: "WAHHH--- I can't let my baby know
                          about that!!!" 'nuff said
                d. Can you see Kasumi telling Akane anything
about sex even as a mother-surrogate?
Even if she did it would be very bland.

Also, please don't assume that all girls learn about their
own body parts by masturbation. In my story, I chose to
have Akane not be into that, or even have considered it,
because I see her as basically uncomfortable with her
body and sexuality... which is why she acts like a tomboy
  half the time.

Some do and some don't. Some also choose not to.....

Sorry... just my 2 cents worth.... and I really think that
a lot of us are looking at sex with the eyes of maturity...
please try and put yourself back and imagine what it would
  be like to be Akane.

I agree....I'm a romantic at heart and like a bit of hesitation....
goofy I know but that's me......

Just wanted to explain my reasoning----
