DK is averaging about 3 comments an installment and the same for OS >when
it was in production and I feel lucky for that much interest after
hearing some of the other authors asking if anyone's even read thier

I'd like to understand what's going on too. I'd hate to think that the vast
majority of members on this list are just reading the fanfics. While this *is*
a fun place to read, the authors are using up a lot of their valuable time to
create these wonderful stories. Even a few kind words of encouragement
would make a difference.
I guess I just find it discourgaging to post something and there is 20
comments on a lemon (or the latest spam-threads) and maybe one or two >on
my own and any other non-lemons or non-spam that where posted >when I check
my mail later. And yes, I know and agree that you should be
writting for your own pleasure but the acknowlegements that someone else
is reading them really helps when I get to the point of just throwing
the whole bloody thing away because I'm tired of working on it and know
how it ends anyway.
I have felt like pulling my story from the list a couple times myself. But
the lack of comments (though one person is giving me consistently detailed
and very helpful C&C and I am grateful for that) has caused me to look at
writing my story as a mission to be completed no matter what. Folks, the
relationship of reader and writer on this list is not as passive as that of
the outside world. We authors *want* to hear your feedback. There is an
entertainment value
to this list, but there should really be some give and take. This list is
(for lack of a less used word) interactive. Let us know what you think, and
don't feel embarassed or that your opinion isn't valid. Having read some of
Windlily's work I can attest, IMHO, to the high quality of what she is
writing if any of you are unsure. Read it and tell her (and the authors of
anything else that you read) what you think. We'd love to hear from ya :)
