Bad Habit #1: Never listen to an author's opinion of his own
story. I had postponed reading Akane 1/2 for a long time, mainly
because the author had said it wasn't very good. Finally read
it, and it's excellent. Brilliant Nabiki and Kuno, excellent
Ranma and Akane, and a depressed, weeping Ukyou (a common
occurence in fics). Last time I listen to an author.

Gomen, but as author of that fic, I had to write and rewrite it
so many times, I couldn't judge it in an unbiased manner when I finally
finished. I kept tinkering with it until I finally decided to post it.
Now I can look back at it and say it wasn't as bad as I thought, but when
I wrote the author's note I was a little "I can't stand rewriting this
anymore, it'll have to do as it is" mood... Well, an author is his/her
own worst critic, ne?

True. I hate rewriting for exactly this reason. Sour Times was dashed
off quickly, so I had no time to reread it and niggle. My new fic is
taking longer, and I'm enjoying it less...
