Well, I can honestly say that it was interesting - actually, I rather
enjoyed it, but I do have one or two concerns -
First of all, there are a lot more opportunities to get doused with cold
water than there are with hot... it seems to me that you risk losing a
large comedic element always keeping Ranko [sic] in her 'cursed' form.
Yep, I know. But under the influence of the Tendous Ranko will slowly
begin to spend about half her time as a girl.
Though I thought the bit with the pool (Ranma, the pool is *heated*!) was a
very nice touch. ^_^
At first I was trying to think of a way to change her back some other
way, but then I decided to keep the pool and lull them in security -
until Akane shouts. :)
Second, while it seems to me that there is a certain lessening of the
initial conflicts (say the fact the Kunou wants to date Ranma and he is
really a boy) there is also a certain potential there for some really new
ones... (Will Akane and Ran(ko)ma really decide to marry?) - as well as
exploring some more... unusual aspects of the characters. (I can see some
really *interesting* lemons coming out of this one.)
Ah, but I *did* the obligatory f/f lemon already. :)
This story will more focus on the emotional relations than on the
citrus-flavoured ones. :)
Then there is the reversal of the twit factor. Ranko is a bit short
tempered, but not as much as Akane. While Ranma was a jerk most of the
time, Ranko is fairly polite until pushed, and Akane pushes as hard as
ever. Here, *Akane* is the jerk - and I think that could get interesting
if properly handled.
I certainly wanted to keep the, um, *wild* character of Ranma-chan intact
for this fic. But Ranko doesn't have Ranma's arrogance over girls *and*
she has been hiding something almost all of her life and thus is a little
more polite sometimes.
You say that you already have the ending relationships worked out... I will
be interested to see what you do with them...
I don't really want to give that away, yet. Also, Characters have the
habit of evolving during the writing and not obeying plans anymore. :)
As for Genma, well, all things considered, I can certainly see how he would
act as he has done. Given his character (lack thereof) I can easily
believe that he would have deliberately cursed his daughter. And Soun's
reaction to Ranko's "sacrifice" is also perfectly in character.
Thanks. Some have told me that it seems a little too much for Genma. *I*
certainly could picture him being so concerned with keeping the vow that
he'd completely fail to consider the feelings of the children.
On the whole, I shall be interested to see precisely where you are going
with this.
Looking forward to future installments,
Thanks for your positive comments.
