Felling that I perhaps did not know as much of my own justice system, I
went and checked the 'facts' that were pointed out to me on this list and
i have to say that they have very little bearing on reality.

And who did you ask? What did you do for research? Or would you rather
just make bald assertions as you did before?

Of course, this is a fiction writing list.

What a charmlingly veiled way of calling anyone who disagrees with you a
liar.

In future, please DO NOT ask me any questions concerning my culture as I
will not ansere them.

In other words, instead of standing up for your opinions and knowlege,
you're going to take your toys and go home? No one is allowed to
disagree with you about your home nation? Isn't that the same attitude
you attacked Americans for having?

Instead please ask others who know my culture so much better such as John
Wlater Biles who is so knowledgeble in Japanese law, language and culture
that he knows more that the natives of that land.

I have never claimed to know anything useful about Japanese language, as
far too many people can tell you.

As for the other issues, all I can say is that few people are qualified
to see the flaws in their own nation. I certainly never said you were an
idiot or that I was some sort of god-like authority. If you choose to
interpret my disagreement with you in that manner, that's your problem.

Now one thing I do know is history. Yes, I have studied Japanese history
at the college level, and yes I do feel qualified to talk about Japanese
history and culture.

No, this doesn't make me a god, but then I have no respect for someone
who simply replies to my statements with "oh, aren't you special. I
don't have to make any kind of detailed response to your statments, I can
simply dimiss them."

I try (I'll admit I don't always succeed) not to dismiss people's
arguments without providing some kind of proof. I'd appreciate the same
courtesy in return.
