That's what katakana is for, foreign loan words. And they're not all
English -- for example, "Arubaito" (part-time job) is from German (I think)
in my textbook, there seems to be an excessive amount of katakana
words, to the point where they take the place of the original words.
like "Uiikuendo" instead of "Shuumatsu."
