Prose is better, IMHO...but then, I've read about 1000 novels since I
learned to read, and until I started reading fanfics, never saw much of
anything in script form...I might be kinda biased, but I still think prose
is better, and will until I see some EXCELLENT proof otherwise...and no
offence to the writers of the good script-type fanfics I've read (There
really aren't all that many, actually) I haven't seen any great examples of
that yet.
Try comparing James Cameron's screenplay for The Abyss with Orson
Scott Card's novelization. Also, for an example of a fanfic that really
benefited from being written in script, see Ping Lin's BGC/ADPolice story
