Today I finished the third part of my current project...

            Ranko 1/2

Yes, you guessed right, this is another "What if" story.


Saotome Genma announces by Postcard that soon he will arrive at
the Tendou Dojo with his son Ranma to fulfill his promise of
marrying Ranma to one of Tendou Souun's daughters. But when the
future fiance of the Tendou girls arrives he seems a little
pensive and shy.  When the youngest daughter, Akane, walks in on
him in the bath it is revealed that "Ranma" is really a girl named
Ranko.

She was turned male by the famous cursed springs of Jusenkyou -
thrown in by her own father.  Genma explains that he did this to
make Ranko marriable to the Tendou girls and their father Souun
agrees!  So Ranko is engaged to the boy-hating Akane - much to
their dismay.

Akane's arguments that the magical body alteration does not change
the fact that Ranko was born and grew up as a girl are waved away
by the fathers as Genma explains that Ranko was "brought up as a
boy" by him.  So there's no problem - to the fathers.

To Genma throwing Ranko into the cursed spring was only the
finishing touch.  Too bad that he mistook the fact that the curses
are permanent to mean that the *change* was permanent.  But a nice
hot bath can change everything...

Ranma:  Get of my back, pop!  You've made some mad plans in your
   time, but this is ludicrous.  I'm not going along with it.

Genma:  Growf!

Souun:  Ar.. Are you...?

Ranma (Boy):  Um, Saotome Ranma, yeah.

                 ---

Kasumi:  You won?  Oh dear, Akane will not like that.  She takes
   losing a little hard.  And you are a *boy*, too.

                 ---

Girl:  Um, I *am* Ranma.  Sorry 'bout this.

                 ---

Akane:  You've got to be kidding.  Sure, I like girls better than
   boys, but not to the point of *marrying* one!

                 ---

Genma:  That girl has spunk!  The perfect fiance for you, eh?

Ranko:  Shut up, pop.

                 ---

Man:  Chiya!  Don't be so wild!  The water in the pot was *hot*
   - you could have hurt someone.

                 ---

Mousse:  You've got to kill Ranko, Shampoo.  It's the law.

                 ---

Cologne:  You've got to marry Ranma, Shampoo.  It's the law.

                 ---

Ukyou:  Jeez, you'd think that Kodachi would finally get a clue
   about whom she's trying to date there.  Shall we help Ran-chan?

Akane:  [cracking her knuckles]  Yes, let's, Ucchan.

                 ---

Ranko:  You mean that Tsubasa girl was after you, too?!

Ukyou:  Yes.  Boy, she sure knows how to pick 'em.

                 ---

Featuring Saotome Ranko (a.k.a. Ranma),  Saotome Genma (a.k.a. fat
lazy panda),  Tendou Souun, Kasumi, Nabiki and Akane,  Kunou
Tatewaki and Kodachi,  Kuonji Ukyou,  Hibiki Ryouga,  Shampoo,
Cologne,  Mousse,  a thousand elepha... err, many supporting
characters.



Parts 1-3 are finished, part 4 is in the works.  They are still
written in "script" format, though that may change in later

The first 4-5 expositional parts closely follow Takahashi-san's
manga writings.  After that the story departs from the original,
although some people and relationships are unchanged and I'll
definitely pick up many of the story arcs from the manga.

I'll post the first five parts as soon as I finish the fifth which
should be this week.

I hope this teaser has spurred some interest. :)
