   That was interesting.  A little long for a prolouge, but very good all
   the same.  

Way too long for me to wade through till it got interesting.

There is also one fatal flaw to the premise:

While the Macross types have somewhat higher levels of technology,
they don't Minoffski physics, and they are very dependant on radar in
general and IR seekers.  I'm afraid anything that can't generate a
shield would quickly become toast in the Gundam universe, especially
with Newtypes in the picture.
