Well, this was certainly a cheerful little piece of fiction.

Very will done, and just full of emotion.  

I am not sure you want to deal with this aspect of the situation, but
shouldn't the police be informed?  Just a thought, and I am not sure that
you should, as I think it might just be a distration from the story.

I am looking forward to the next part.
