And it always happens when the file is *really long*, too.
Just when you are about to save/mail the longest, most well-
formulated article of your life some program that was running in
tha background decides to screw up royally and freezes everything.
In that case I reset the computer and dump all memory into a 4 mb
file that I sift through to salvage the text from the writing
program's working memory (assuming that the crashed program didn't
overwrite everything with random data - grrr)
But most of the time it's *me* who screws up:
"Save changes? Yes/No"
"No. ... AAYYAAAARGHHH!! <sound of head being smashed against many
solid, immovable objects including walls and little sisters>"
