suppose you are on a date, someone spits on your guy, so he turns and
insists on getting into a brawl.

now, most guys would say, if you are insulted, you've gotta defend your
honor.

and most girls (at least every last one that i know) would say, "but
brawling is stupid!  it doesn't get anything done!"

who is right?  obviously, the girl is right, she is being level-headed
and sensical.  the male is being belligerant, macho, and hot-headed.

now, turn this around...women being hot-heads about rapists, men looking
at it from a cooler(temperature-wise ^_^) point of view.  who is right
here?

are you talking about the two officers and their superior where the
2 guys tried to use their superior's pulling rank as an excuse?

Now, considering that they would gladly be killed buy MANY individuals, 
especially the parents and pamily of the girl, the sentence is extremely 
light and has not met with the approval of a lot of people.

that doesn't matter.  the law and lawyers must decide sentence...otherwise
we have mob rule.  we can't say "well, most of these people want to
kill them, so, here ya go, mr. father-of-the-raped, take this rifle and
blow them away!"  it would be like the witch hunts of salem again!

Now the real question I have is that when Americans go to other 
countries, that country has to follow American law.  When foreigners for 
America, they have to follow American law.  Why?

the world's messed up. :( but then again, you gotta remember about
that caning for the vandalism in china.  remember that?  there wasn't any
"intervention" about that...and caning is against the law here too!
of course, vandalism is a little thing, rape is a big thing, but the
concept is there...

Why do you want to make a hero out of rapist by the manner you are when 
they are criminals who make women a victem forever?

who said we were making heroes out of them?
