Okay, in all fairness. (I gotta get away from this topic,may this be my
last post on it...)
Rape is a sensitive subject. Bringing it up here was maybe not such a good
idea, but the can of worms has been opened and hopefully it can be stopped
soon. PhoneyT, I can see where your curiosity led you to ask this
question, but if we don't all cool down it may lead to a flame war, and
that would be disaterous if everyone came back from Summer vacation and
there was nothing going on here because we were all either thrown off or
no longer speaking to one another. I don't totally agree with your point
of view. But it's just my opinion that I believe that a _convicted_ rapist
should be punished accordingly, even if it may be cruel and unusual. But I
understand the need to weed out falsely accused and wrongly convicted
rapists. That is the main problem with the death penalty, the fear that
the wrong one will be put to death. But such is the price we must pay for
justice here. An eye for an eye may not be the best way, but it worked. At
least for that place, that time, and I think it still goes on now. But
would it work here? Should it work here? I don't know. Government isn't my
forte. I have the horrid habit of going with my emotions when I should be
going with my head. It happened here when I opened my mouth and said
somethings that may have been taken as flaming. For that I apologize to
all. Maybe we should let WW intervene to end this discussion, before it
ruins something here...
