I've been listening to all the arguments over "Whose
Life Is It Anyway" and whether Ranma could be beaten in
that way.  I didn't have a problem with it, but that's
because I tend to jettison plot problems if the 
characters are right.

Likewise, if a fic has an excellent plot, but none of the 
people ring true, then it's nt a fic that grabs me.

So, I'll give you a topic:  which is worse, plot problems but
exceptional characterization, or a great plot but bad
character writings?  Discuss. 

Example of #1:  (IMO) Chiesai, a fanfic that had some
excellent character writing, some deeply moving scenes, some
nice romance, and a plot that was utterly crap.  Despite
this, I'm beginning to like it because the charaterization
*is* so good.

Example of #2:  (IMO) Back to Skuld, an AMG! fanfic with an 
excellent plot that is certainly worth developing, but an
odd treatment of characters (Belldandy says F**K!  For only a
minor reason!).  Therefore, I'm not very hyped up about this.

Any thoughts?  C'mon, people, look alive!
