O.K....
I finally printed these suckers out and read them....
I think as a technical point Bert's writing has shown a traceable
progression in presentation and scripting (of course that's the result of
good editing as well.) and his divergence "off the beaten path" so to
speak is getting better as well. Criticism: everybody slurpps or gulps
tons of hot beverages...Now, I'm a coffee man myself but it seems that
somebody out there might sip once and a while...I mean tea can be
HOT!...I guess if they are all that battered from combat they might not
notice that inner burning but I might be wrong. Also Bert (in the story)
keeps a pot of tea sitting around for obscene amounts of time....keeps
the pot warm and all that but the tannic acid sitting in that pot could
make all of the Cast leather.....
On the Nene breakup.....
Well it hurts my soul to see it happen but the hints have been there
from the begining.....There was just to much infatuation in Bert's (the
character) perception of Nene...and not enough of "Nene the person" Bert
(I think) (in the story) seemed to have made up his mind about Nene (she
will be mine...oh yes, she will be mine) but didnot consider how he would
really respond....It seemed that Sylvie knew it to although not
nessisarily in a concious way.....
I would have protested about the whole thing but Bert (the writer not
the character) suckered me with the snowball thing.....it's got a bit of
formage in it but at least they didn't kiss then....I'm a sucker for this
whole routine......
Well that and the fact that I can flash freeze myself tomorow for a few
decades and then catch her on the rebound ;)
I'm waiting to see Nene walk in on the two of them in BGZ 10 sometime in
the first few pages.....I don't know...just a hunch....
And of course the HeadHunter....I keep thinking of that olde rhyme
Guyver Guyver burning bright
in MegaTokyo late at night
who would have thought your fate would be
a button push from old Quincey.....
of course
I could be all wrong....but that's my picture of the
HeadHunter.....
Anyway, as you have guessed ...I liked it....
BUT.....
I NEED MORE!!!!
Neil
