Okay, since the ML has become, as of late, a "dark and lonely
place" I've decided to bring a little unbridled chaos into it. To
wit...

Side Story #1: A Few Moments In and Around D.C.

Larry Sindell strolled down the street. It was a beautiful spring
day, the sky was clear, the sun was shining, the birds were singing,
and a large spaceship was flying directly overhead.
Larry Sindell looked up at the gargantuan space entity. The ship
was over 1000 meters long and a dark metallic green. Large gun
turrets, vaguely reminiscent of a Navy battleship, could be seen both
topside and underneath the behemoth, along with several missile
batteries.
Larry Sindell stared, open-mouthed, as the great ship passed
overhead, sending up gusts of wind that made the garbage in the
street swirl around and redistribute themselves elsewhere.
The last things Larry remembered seeing before he passed out, was
the oddly contradictory rear of the ship. It was decked out like an
old fashioned Spanish gallieon. Ornately carved wood-like surface,
with panes of what looked like stained glass inlaid into it. Across
the whole ship, the mark of the skull-and-crossbones, a black flag of
the same design, and the name "ARCADIA" emblazoned near the front of
the ship...
Laura Goldberg was bored. She was currently not listening to the
tour guide as he blabbed on and on about the Jefferson Memorial as
her tour group apprached it. She cast her eyes aroud the surrounding
landscape, wishing she could ditch the group from her school and just
wander around D.C. and meet up with them at the hotel later. She
glanced at the immaculate lawns, the other monuments in the distance,
the naked woman standing on top of the Jefferson Memorial.
Wait a minute.
Laura's eyes went wide as her brain tried to comprehend what she
was seeing. There was, quite distinctly, a woman wearing red boots,
gloves, a mask with two long flaps of material on either side of it,
and *nothing else* standing on the Jefferson Memorial.
<Way too much booze last night,> Laura thought as she shook her
head to try and clear it.
When she looked up again, the woman was gone. Laura blinked and
decided to pay attention to the tour guide. At least he actually
existed...
Edgar MacDougal was just opening his corner shop when he heard
the stampede. Now, technically, stampedes are not a usual occurance
in Washington D.C., seeing as how the closest place you'll find a cow
is the local McDonalds (and if you look carefully, it's probably
where you'll find the closest horse, too.) But MacDougal had lived in
Utah for most of his childhood, and he was sure that he could still
tell a stampede when he heard one.
It wasn't a stampede of cows or horses (although there were some
questions raised later about several hundred pounds of meat that wnet
missing from a nearby McDonalds later,), instead MacDougal saw,
rounding the corner and young Chinese woman in a ornate blue dress,
red tights, and white boots. Her black hair was bounded up under what
looked like two white handkerchiefs, one on either side of her head.
She raced past MacDougal, and into the store, where she promptly
hid behind the magazine rack. MacDougal was about to asked her what
was wrong, when a rampaging mob of human males, ages 14-30 also
rounded the corner and rampaged past the small store yelling "Chun-
Li, Chun-Li!" at the top of their lungs.
When the mob had passed, the Chinese woman came out from behind
the rack, walked out the door and began walking in the opposite
direction the males had gone.
Then the sounds of the stampede were heard, and the woman bolted
down the street, the mob back on her scent.
"Chun-Li, Chun-Li!"
Edgar MacDougal scratched his head.
"That has to be one of the strangest experiences of my life..."

You can give C&C if you want, but this was just a brief interlude of
rampant silliness to brighten your day! Especially for Misa-chan. Get
well soon, Misa! ^_^
