That really depends on how serious the situation is. Most of the time
it is just reflexive action to an insult. Akane hit Ranma and they'll forget it
the next moment. However, it they fight over something serious, eventually
either Akane or Ranma realize their fault and back down. I suspect that Akane
and Ranma doesn't even care about their usual fighting anymore because it
happens just about everyday. When something that threatens their relationship
does show up, they'll try to solve it.
Well, my main experience is with the anime, and in the anime, Akane
mentioned something about being attacked by guys (and not having a problem
with guys going as nuts over her) after Kuno's speech.
And why does Akane attacked by the guys? It is because everyone is nuts
and want to go on a date with her!
No, she doesn't. Instead, she defends herself. She is acting in her
best interest, and it would be silly to expect her to just let herself be
defeated by any of the guys, but by not being defeated, she's becoming more and
more of a "tease" so to speak.
She defends herself because she doesn't like any of them. Remember at
the beginning Akane is very anti-boyish. She defends herself so she can get to
school on time and because she doesn't like boys.
