Hmmm...I thought you had the discovery of the century, especially when I 
saw a brown-haired Akane on the dustjacket to manga #2.  However, I then 
remembered that the manga does weird things to hair color...Ranma's 
hair'll be brown one manga and purple the next.
Looking at the Shonen Sunday color inserts, Akane's hair is definitely 
blue.  More blue to it than in the anime, even...like a medium dark blue, 
not black at all.  However, this is recent Shonen Sundays...maybe her 
hair was made blueish-black in reponse to Nettouhen giving her blue-ish 
black hair?  Hmmm...
Perhaps somebody with an early Shonen Sunday can check up on this.  Kind of 
curious, if for no good reason.
