Sad, but true.  Unless you have a 'name' (like Ryan Mathews for one), you've
got to do something to grab your audience.

The same reaction here. Except for John Biles who I always recognized his name
because he is prolific.

People probably know of Kun-chan because she's infamous.

Hey, I wasn't infamous when I wrote my fanfics! And I *still* don't get
replies to them on this ML, except by maybe one or two or three people.
