<sigh>  I know I'm gonna regret this but... I have to :)

I've had this MUD (Mux to be totally accurate) running on my machine for
the past couple of months and I had all kinds of grand plans for it.  Of
course this meant that I was absolutely forbidden by Fate and the
Universe to do *anything* with it :P.   And then we had another
spam/flame war here on the list, and I thought to myself: "Gee, these
people need someplace to go and chatter.".  IRC is good, if you've got
access, but not quite the same.  "These people need someplace to
roleplay parts of their stories and lives of their .sigs.  I know.  I'll
let them have the mud!  Yeah!".

And so it came to pass that the FanFicMUX was born.  Feel free to come
on in (telnet ghost.cc.cmu.edu 1996), make a character or two or three.
(Or more if your .sigs demand it ;)  There's a fairly complete mail and
chat system built in, and it's open to building and creating
if you're so inclined.  If you've never MUDed before then you might
want to check out the web page at: http://ghost.cc.cmu.edu/~dar/mud.html
which contains a copy of Amberlyn's Mush Manual, an invaluable resource
for starting players.  When you connect you should also check out the
online help file (type "help" to get started).
