Neil: to format to 70 characters, hit the return button after
about 10-12 words  in a line.

The reason why we need it formatted is that not all mail
users are created equal.  For example, my machine word wraps, but sends
out the message as one long line.  So if I didn't hit return
after about 11 words or so, then you'd only get those 11 or so
words and the rest of the message would be lost.
