Well, don't let series stereotyping scare you off.  People have written, and
continue to write, some very good stories in the BGC universe with
minimal/no hardware/jargon.  "Yearnings" and "Dance of Armor" (both by
"Innpchan" and available on the archive) are two excellent examples of this.
"DoA" has minimal tech, and "Yearnings" has no tech at all. :)
