As the self-proclaimed coiner of this phrase (I have witnesses that will
attest to my having used "Van Vleitis" more than a month ago<g>) let me
explain.

It's really quite simple. You are an exception among us, a true pioneer
in the field of, shall we say, "grand designs". Many of us admire your
marathonic endurance in creating THEE epic fanfic of all time. Thus it
seemed only right that the term "Van Vleitis" be chosen to represent not an
affliction or "disease" as such, but a state of mind that few can ever hope
to achieve. We are the short-sighted ones, drafting tales that pale in
comparison to the mighty textbook known as BGZone amongst pre-lit/med
students. Please accept this certificate and plaque that make the term "Van
Vleitis" an official lit/med term for the long-distance writer (Panda hands
Bert a certificate (mile-long scroll) and a plaque (on a 2x4 backing) and
shakes Bert's hand as flash-bulbs go off). Now Bert; return to the forefront
