Well, do the math.  Since no story time seemed to past throughout the run
of the Ranma manga, there are two extremes for a birthday for Ranma:
being aged 16 when the manga began, and being 16 when it ended.  I believe
the manga started in 1988, so that would give a birthyear of 1972, which
would make Ranma 62 in 2034 (which would be a good guess for the time of
the story).  If he had a daughter at age 22, and she had a daughter at
age 22, Ranma would have a 18 year old granddaughter.  Perhaps a tad young
for children, but perfectly reasonable.  If he was born in 1980, his age is
54, and the childbearing ages become 18, which is still possible, although
Ranma and Akane are gonna have to get going to beat the deadline.

As for the actual story, I liked it and want to see more.  The interaction
between Ranma and his granddaughter was especially good, even though it
made it sound like Akane is dead :'(
