Well, I'm posting this because I'm finally getting back into writing, and have
been enjoying reading the stories on this list. (Let's write more, OK?) :)

Anyway, like I said, this is the sequel to the Werewolf story I'm also
writing at this time. (No, this is NOT chapter 2, but a second story set in
the same time period and world. And yes, Lynette will eventually meet
Thor/White)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a small house, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday urban life, a
young girl was born. She started crying from the moment the chilly air
brushed against her blood soaked skin, and she would be crying inside for
many years thereafter.
                                   *****
The house was never clean enough for the two taskmasters she was forced to
call parents. Work, work, and more work. That was her lot in life, and she
had accepted it only through the deliberate and cruel punishments, the
abuse, her parents doled out on an all too frequent basis. Life, for her,
was hell, and death would be a welcome alternative. But, no matter how many
times she had the gun in her hand, or the knife by her wrist, she couldn't
kill herself.
"Lynette! Quit daydreaming!" Her mother's shrill scream brought Lynette out
of her daydreaming. She snatched up the mop and began to clean the floor
with a renewed vigor. She believed that Mommy and Daddy were always right,
such was their abuse of this wonderful ten year old child. If she was wrong,
she would be punished, and punishment was never good.
Sometimes, though, they were nice to her. They let her read books, books
they agreed to, of course. Often these were dry textbooks of some sort,
since she had no formal schooling. Technical books were common, and she
could tell you the principles of writing a computer operating system or
recite to you all the elements on the periodic table. But she wasn't happy
with this; she had an imagination to feed, and often this imagination would
involve her fantasizing when she should have been working.
For five years, now, she had been the slave of the house. She was a cute
little girl, and many would think that she could grow up to be a beautiful
model. She was very intelligent, and was always able to think fast. Many
times her quick and potent wits were her only safety from serious harm:
explaining why something happened, and that it wasn't all her fault. Then,
her parents might just send her to bed without supper. Usually, though,
physical punishments would reinforce her subjugation.
For another three years, her life would be the same monotone of punishment
and slave-like labor. School and friends were nonexistent, and finally
Lynette decided that this was the end of her torture. She couldn't kill
herself, but Mommy and Daddy would die. Her hatred overwhelmed her thoughts,
and Daddy's souvenir from the Vietnam War, his exquisite katana, would make
an excellent weapon.
She found it exactly where it always was. In his bedroom, hanging on the
wall was the curved blade of her salvation, the last bastion of hope for the
pitiful girl. Lynette would wait until Daddy and Mommy came home, and kill
them. She didn't know what she would do then, but she didn't care, either.
Sure enough, an hour later, the front door opened, Lynette's parents saw
the horrible visage of their daughter facing them down with a katana in
hands. Daddy spoke first. "Lynette you put that down, or..."
"Or what? I'm going to kill you now, you'll pay for what you did to me!"
Lynette's rage was obvious, and her determination even frightened her parents.
Lynette's mother spoke up. "No dear. You'll not touch us. You will be a
good girl or you will be punished."
"But you're supposed to love your children. Not hurt them again and again."
"We would love you, but you are such a bad girl."
"I'm going to kill you for what you did."
Lynette's father stepped forward, slowly. "Lynette Somer, you put that down
right now. I'll come back from the dead if you kill me."
Lynette broke down right then. In the past, she had experienced many
strange and supernatural occurrences. One such time, she had seen a
half-man, half-wolf. She had even talked to it, though it had turned into a
man before it talked to her. But, her parents dismissed it as a lie and beat
her for lying to them. Lynette knew better, and was afraid that Daddy just
might come back from the dead.
The sword crashed to the ground, Lynette's hopes faded to nothing with the
last echo of metal on wood.
Her father's hand slapped her face and she collapsed, unconscious, from the
force. Her mother roughly carried her upstairs where they were going to
teach their daughter to behave or kill her.
Outside, the same Garou she had talked to before was preparing a rite. He
was going to make sure the girl survived this.
                                   *****
Water. Lynette didn't know what splashed her, but she thought it was water.
In moments, she was fully conscious, and vary aware that she was strapped
spread-eagle and very naked on a table. She had never seen this room before,
but guessed it was in the basement. She saw two people through foggy vision.
They were her parents.
Various implements lay strewn about the room. Some of them were designed
for pleasure, others precisely for the pain they could cause. Mommy selected
on such item. It was a small pad with wires running to a box which was
plugged into the wall.
"Girl, control the electricity." A voice she vaguely remembered was coming
to her in her mind.
"What?" She answered aloud, and Daddy slapped her again, enough to hurt,
but not enough to knock her out.
"Girl, don't talk to me. Just think what you wish to say. My name is
Windwalker. I am the Garou, the werewolf, you talked to long ago. I won't
let them hurt you, but I need you to help. You have great power, just feel
the electricity in the wall, in the cord. You can control it. It is your
rage, you can use it."
"Windwalker." Lynette whispered his name, and started crying, softly. She
knew he was right. She knew she had power, and she would use it.
"Mommy needs you to understand why you are going to be punished. You wanted
to kill us. That is a bad thing. As such, you will be hurt, badly. When we
believe you have learned your lesson, we will stop hurting you. Do you
understand?"
"Yes." Lynette's sobbing was becoming more pronounced. Windwalker, help me.
Please.
"Do it, girl. Lynette, I am your friend. Feel the power you have, and
release it."
Lynette saw that there was a fray in the cord leading to the wall. He said
to control the electricity. Mommy attached the pad to Lynette's foot, and
reached to turn on the box. A shower of sparks met the woman before the box
could be touched. Lynette felt the power, and forced more and more
electricity into her evil mother.
Then, her father, reacting instinctively, grabbed Lynette's mother to pull
her free. In the process, Lynette only forced more and more electricity into
the two grounded abusers. In a matter of seconds, Lynette's personal devils
were dead.
