Kodachi and the alligator was just too cruel....

Sometimes small creatures can get eaten and still survive for a short time 
(several days by Nerima standards) before they get digested.  That is, if 
they're swallowed whole.  Maybe it would be less cruel if Kodachi survived 
until the alligator drank some hot water and then gagged and spat her out 
(as a human).
