Can someone tell me how to get to IRC? My stupid computer has window95 but
only a 16-bit winsock ( ie. a Trumpet winsock ), so when I tried to download
mirc, it didn't work! What can I do? Do I really need to upgrade it to a
32-bit winsock? Or is there a way that I can get around to IRC despite all
these problems?

      Either you can use Dial-Up Networking (which *COMES WITH WIN95*), or
you can use the 16-bit mIRC. The 16-bit mIRC should come with the 32-bit
version. But, if you want to use the 32-bit version of mIRC, you *HAVE* to use
a 32-bit winsock. There also is a 32-bit trumpet winsock available, but it has
some problems with some software (this is MS's fault: they used some sneaky
tricks in their winsock code which trumpet isn't compatible with). For this
trumpet, go to http://www.windows95.com and follow the appropriate shareware
links.
