"Sauce Wars"?
Could some one explain this, please?
Ah. The Sauce Wars....
(settles back into an overstuffed leather armchair near a fireplace)
It all started from a conversation about MREs. The Orick asserted the he
liked MREs, and had even kept the tiny bottle of Tobasco from one because
it was so cute. Nathan responded to that by stating that Tobasco was to
be eaten, not worshipped. The Orick then appeared ina flowing white
robe, proclaiming the merits of Tobasco and urging all to hail the spicy
messiah.
You can guess the rest of it. The forces of Mustard quickly rose up,
and the forces of Mayonnaise announced their presence (though they have
not yet entered into the fighting), followed by Soy, Ketchup/Catsup and
other tomato-based sauces, A-1, Sweet and Sour, Nori (Yes, dried
seaweed in the Sauce War!), and others.
Ah. So where does barbecue sauce fit into this? I will defend Arthur
Bryant's Rich and Spicy, or KC Masterpiece Hickory... I find KC
Masterpiece Hickory gets along quite well with soy sauce in ground
turkey, w/garlic salt and poultry seasoning.
And how about the common soldier the Home Brand Tomato Sauce, with apple
base, feel about these other sauces deciding what wars could be fought.
Sauces get splattered in these you know....
(...and I speak to you from the home of all *true* barbecue, Kansas City!
<g> Next time you're in the area, let me know and I'll take you by Arthur
Bryants, Rosedale, Smokehouse, KC Masterpiece, the Hickory Pit...)
And I speak to you from the home of... the home of... of... of...
Trent: Brisbane isn't really known for a particular sauce speciality is it...
Shut up - I'll think of something yet.
of... never mind - just toss another prawn on the barbie ;)
..Hello. I'm afraid I'm not sapient right now. Please leave a message,
and I'll get back to you when I reach a higher evolutionary plane. Thank
you.
Dare I say that we'll be waiting a time? ;)
