  I partly agree.  It does save you some of the descriptive work as far 
as the characters go, but on the other hand, you have to keep the 
characters in character.  Fen notice. ^_^
  When writing fanfics, there's so much already there for you, which in 
one sense hinders: you have to stay with the established -verse or give 
explanations when you do something different.
