but I find writing fanfics much easier than writing a regular story.
Since you're basically writing to an audience that is fairly well
acquainted with the main characters, descriptions of those characters
do not have to go too much into detail, as well as their particular
actions.

Well, you'd be surprised.  As I pointed out in my "advice column" ;) ,
you want to know what makes the characters "tick", and put *that* kind of
description into the story.  Yes, maybe you don't have to do as much
description as you might for an original story, but you really should
anyway.  Why?  Because when you write a fanfic, you're supposed to be
making those characters your own.  Personalizing them, so to speak.  The
people who read your fanfic don't want to see carbon copies of the anime
characters.  They want a fresh, new look at them through your eyes as a
fanfic writer.  Don't disappoint them.

        Now of course this doesn't mean you shouldn't put in
description.
