Subject: Re: IRC (fwd)
When, whenever I try IRC at night, won't it work correctly? It never lets
me connect to any of the channels that my friends in the US are online...
It *says* that I've joined, but it doesn't show the people who are online
there at the time (I can find out because a friend tells me who's online,
etc), and I can't see anything that gets written, and nothing that I type
in gets shown to them. It seems that *they* can see me log on, but I don't
do anything. What's going on? This happens on the undernet irc thing, and
on the 'normal' irc, nothing happens at all. (On undernet, it shows me that
people are there, but they are not the people who are online! But it still
doesn't show anything that they type...)
This is because Australian IRC isn't connected to America very often. It is
linked late at night when bandwidth allows but during the day it isn't possible.
There isn't anything we can do about this.
