Mainly, I wanted to know why Ranma, Mousse, Shampoo, Akane, Kodachi, &
Kuno would be working together! And why not Ukyo too?
That was a bit unusual, yes.
Otherwise, you have captured the feel of a Callahan's, but it is *not*
Callahan's. It is clearly a different kind of place, with a different
crowd, with their own style. Bi-weekly fights, a band instead of
individual players, all of them young, and... they may not all have
their own story. Spider has always been a favorite of mine, and this is
a worthy tribute to him.
In addition to Callahan's, it reminded me of Steven Brust's book _Cowboy
Feng's Space Bar and Grill_ -- though _Cowboy Feng's_ is a much darker
book.
It's sad (for me, anyway) to see Callahan's go in the direction it has;
it seems to have lost a fair amount of the sentiment that made it
special, and replaced it with less-than-stellar bawdy humor.
