I'm assuming that your ship is travelling at just under the speed of
light, and is 2.5ly away at this point. Assuming the ships launching
point was Earth, you need a star 12.5ly away. That would have to be
CD-39deg14192 at exactly 12.5ly
Although you could stretch it to encompass these stars:
Luyten 725-32 at 12.4ly ( as opposed to Luyten 726-8A/B at 8.4 ly, so
don't be puttin' just Luyten :) )
Kapteyn's star at 12.7ly
Krueger 60A/B at 12.8ly ( binary star system )
If you're not travelling at c, then ne'er mind :)
