and I just got back a couple of days ago. So how was everybody? Okay, I
hope. Well here's the latest installment of my fanfic. Enjoy.

Chapter 7: What Causes Anger
Susan hesitated, watching Hiyana's every move. She was so
different. She seemed dilusionized and lost in thought.
"Susan... Susan... Let's return home...", she said ghastly.
"Hiyana... w-what's wrong?", Susan asked, worried.
The night was warm and the soft winds blew over the grass. They
seemed to stand forever. Susan couldn't see Hiyana's face, it was too dark.
She sensed something was terribly wrong...
"We have to return... we have to return...", Hiyana repeated herself.
"Hiyana... why are you babbling? What's wrong?", Susan asked again.
"You and I... we must return... to where we belong...", she said.
"What? What are you talking about?", she asked.
A red glow shimmered in her eyes and she smiled evily. Then she
stepped away from me and raised her arms in the air.
"H-Hiyana...!", Susan called.
"This body... it's so powerful...", said the demon.
"A... a demon!?", Susan gasped.
"Ha, ha, ha, ha... this body, this girl, she calls out to you, yet
she cannot reach you... pathetic humans...", said the demon.
"Hiyana! Fight it, don't let it overcome you!", Susan shouted.
The demon laughed again, mocking her. Then the demon possessing
Hiyana charged at Susan. She blocked as it rammed her.
"Damn... it's so strong, not like Hiyana at all...", Susan cussed.
"I will devour you both and suck your life force.", the demon
threatened.
"Hi..yana....", Susan whispered.
The demon stopped from its ramming and Susan was knocked to the
ground. She got up, ready again.
"S... usan... he...lp me...", Hiyana struggled to say.
"H-Hiyana... How? Tell me, how do I help you?", Susan asked.
"Eeaauugh... Susan... you must... you must kill me...", she answered.
The demon and Hiyana kept struggling to overcome eachother.
"No, I won't do that! There must be another way! I won't kill
you!", said Susan.
"It's the... only way... please...", she begged.
Susan turned her head to one side, not wanting to do what her
friend asked.
"I won't ever see you again! I can't do it!", she said.
"You're the best friend I've ever had... I'll always... be with
you...", she said.
"Hiyana...", Susan sobbed.
Hot tears streamed down her cheeks as she gathered her courage.
Taishakuten and the soldiers arrived then. Taishakuten stopped as he saw
Hiyana and Susan.
"I... won't let you... take this body from me!", screamed the demon.
"Susan, you have to kill Hiyana.", said Taishakuten.
"...", Susan was silent.
"Susan! Don't let me suffer!", Hiyana cried.
The demon was destroying her inside, ripping her and tearing her.
Hiyana cried in pain as her mouth was filled with blood. Susan couldn't
take it anymore. Her heart racked in pain and sorrow.
"Surrender your life force... and I'll spare her pain!", laughed
the demon.
"I won't forgive... for what you've done!!!", Susan said fiercely.
The demon hesitated. Susan stood up and began to glow.
"What the--", said the demon as it disintegrated in the golden light.
Hiyana could feel no pain, she felt a warm light instead.
"Susan...", she called out softly.
"Shh. I'm right here...", Susan whispered.
Everywhere Hiyana looked, there was nothing but golden light. She
felt so glad. Susan held Hiyana in her lap, holding her.
"I feel so weak... you were always the strong one...", Hiyana
whispered.
Susan was silent as she listened to her friend's last words.
"I just wished... that...", Hiyana never finished as she closed her
eyes.
Susan clutched Hiyana even closer. Then the light vanished and the
demon reappeared.
"... You'll do.", said the demon.
"Hiyana... why? You're safe now... but why did you have to...
DIE!!!", Susan shouted, her angry voice echoing through the fields.
"You're mine!", said the demon as it lunged for her.
Susan lay Hiyana on the ground and faced the demon. Taishakuten's
men stood back. She held out her hand.
"Psychic... WAVE!!!", she shouted.
The demon was stopped in midair, it was unable to move.
"W-What is happening?!", it asked.
Taishakuten was fascinated. The men awed. The demon was being
crushed by an invisible force. Air swirled around Susan as she closed her eyes.
"NOOOO!!!", cried the demon as it exploded.
Remenants of the demon slopped onto the ground, vaporizing. Susan
put down her hand, and fell onto the ground, exhausted. She saw Hiyana's
body vanish too as she was covered in darkness.
Zenmi Castle.
Susan lay on the bed, sweating. She was having nightmares over and
over again. She felt a cool hand on her forehead.
"Uhn...", Susan calmed.
"Shhh...", said a voice.
Susan awoke with a start, gripping the bedsheets as if she had
awoken from the dead.
"Hiyana...!", she gasped.
"Calm down...", said a maid.
Susan covered her face with her hands, sobbing. The maid tried to
calm her. Taishakuten had brought her back from the field as she was out.
When they had arrived at Zenmi castle, he rushed her to bed and had a maid
watch over her.
When she had stopped crying, Susan had fallen silent as a ghost.
She had a far-away look in her eyes and looked thinner everyday. The maid
helped her dress and she went downstairs silently.
"Susan...", whispered Ashura-ou as she passed him.
"Susan, I'm sorry about what happened to Hiyana.", said Tentei.
Susan just stared at them as Kuyou entered the room. As soon as
Kuyou saw Susan, she went over to her.
"Oh, you poor child... I'm so sorry...", she said.
Tears brimmed in Susan's eyes as Kuyou embraced her. She covered
her face in her hands and began to tremble in Kuyou's arms.
"Why did it have to happen to her?", Susan sobbed.
"Shh.", said Kuyou.
"It's all my fault...", Susan said.
"No, it wasn't.", said Kuyou.
Susan broke from the embrace and walked over the a pillar, her back
facing the others.
"It's not your fault, Susan.", said Tentei.
Susan slammed her hand on the pillar.
"You're wrong! Hiyana died because I wasn't strong enough...",
Susan said almost in a whisper.
"Susan...", Ashura-ou whispered.
"She was so innocent... ", Susan whispered.
Kuyou came and put a hand on Susan's shoulder.
"She will always be with you.", said Kuyou.
After a moment, Susan realized what Kuyou meant. Hiyana was always
with her, in her mind.
"That demon... it's not dead yet, is it?", Susan asked.
The others in the room was surprised. How had she known?
"Tell me... how do I destroy it?", Susan asked.
The room was silent.
"Why are you all so intent on keeping me here?", Susan asked as she
turned around.
"What are you talking about?", Ashura-ou asked.
"You know very well what I mean... tell me, tell me the truth...",
Susan commanded.
Tentei hesitated, so did the others.
"I don't care what happens... I'll avenge Hiyana, if it's the last
thing I do...", Susan said.
Susan started heading towards the door.
"Susan.", said Kuyou.
Susan stopped.
"Stay a bit longer, and replenish your strength. You aren't ready
to go fight it yet...", said Kuyou.
Susan turned around.
"If I stay, you will have to show me the way to the demon's
place.", said Susan.
"Yasha-ou knows.", said Kuyou.
Susan walked away from the door.
"And Hiyana... where's her body?", Susan asked.
"...It vanished.", Taishakuten answered.
