"Recognize your skills, but know your limitations."  I am a bad writer who
is fortunate enough to have a few people enjoy what I write.  Compared to
the real writers, I have very little importance.

No, you don't know your own limitations.  I can understand how you might not 
appreciate your writing as much as the rest of us on the ML do.  Usually 
what the author has in mind and what the reader ends up getting out of a 
story are different (sometimes a *lot* different).  I have no idea what you 
expected "A Son's Duty" to be like, but I thought it was really good.  In 
fact, most if not all of us did.  If that's not good enough, your 
expectations are way too high.  Now cheer up, quit complaining about how 
awful your writing is, and go write some more good stuff.
